One of such apps is the Google Authenticator app and in this post, we show you how to set up Google Authenticator to provide 2 Factor Authentication on your Android or iPhone Devices.
Set up Google Authenticator on Android
To Use the Google Authenticator App on Android, You need;
- Android version 4.4 and up
- To turn on 2-Step Verification
- To install the Google Authenticator App from the Google Playstore
Next, follow these steps;
- On your device, go to your Google Account.
- At the top, in the navigation panel, tap Security.
- Under “Signing in to Google,” tap 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in.
- In the “Add more second steps to verify it’s you” section, under “Authenticator app,” tap Set up.
- Follow the on-screen steps.
Set up Google Authenticator on your iPhone or iPad
To Use the Google Authenticator App on your iPhone or iPad You need;
- The latest operating system for your device
- To turn on 2-Step Verification
- Optional for QR code: iPhone 3G and up
- To install the Google Authenticator App from the App Store
Next, follow these steps;
- On your device, go to your Google Account.
- At the top, in the navigation panel, tap Security.
- Under “Signing in to Google,” tap 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in.
- In the “Add more second steps to verify it’s you” section, under “Authenticator app,” tap Set up.
